Personal care attendant (caregiver) staff typically have slightly more training than a family member caring for their loved one at home would have. The agencies are typically licensed, the administrators, staff and caregivers are typically registered with the California Department of Social Services, and some staff training is required for staff that provide assistance to older adults or personal with a physical or mental disability.
